Diabetes

On wednesday of this week i decided that I needed to go to the opticians and get my eyes checked. This was due to a growing discomfort and also the inability to see things at a distance with my glasses on. This to me sugested a change in perscription. So after college on wednesday I went to Specsavers.
I explained my predicament and they looked a tad confused but managed to get me an eyetest for that afternoon. They said that if I was chewing them on that I would be charged £18. This paniced me a bit because I had no cash. So I said yes to the appointment and went to look for my mam at work. COuld not find her so I phoned big Dave and he agreed that he would help out.
SO I went and got a drink to calm my nerves (strawberry Yop (why is it only nice for the first few sips each time you try it)
I turned up for my appointment (2:45) and went to see the opticain. He was a nice bloke kinda looked like Harold Shipman. He looked very perplexed while he was giving me my eye test. Apparently my eyes had changed so that I was less long sighted. This happens very rarley so he dicided to ask me a few questions. The one thing that kept comming up was teh fact that it could be diabetes that has change my eyes. This was shocking but made sense (sugar puff wee, increases thirst, weight loss and gain, extreme tiredness). So he sujested that I go to the doctors and get a blood glucose check.
So yesterday after organising a proper blood glucose check at the doctors I went to Lloyds pharmacy to get a free blood glucose check and blood pressure check. This was just to rest my mind.
When we went to the pharmacy I got checked ouot Ok on everything. THANK FUCK FOR THAT I was so worried. While I was there my mam decided that she and dad would get one to. So she did the same test. Mine was 5.0 after a 14 hour fst so mine was OK but my mams was 6.5 which indicates that she has diabetes. Not good but she had eaten in the last 2 hours so this nulls the reading. This means that she has to go back and do the test again after a 12 hour fast. I hope its OK.
All this has scared the shit out of my mam and she has decided that a drastic diet change is in order and that we should change our lifestyle for the better.
I still have to go for a blood test on Wednesday after a 14 hour fast. This sould give me the required results that tell me why I constantly feel like shit.
SO at the moment I am a bit crappy and am only drinking water and am taking vitamin suplaments to see if that sorts it out. I hope so!
