S for Shit

Well this should be on the R for Revolution but it is a film reveiw and does not fit with the criteria for that site.

Yesterday I managed to arrange a trip to the cinema. The film was V for Vendetta. Well lets just say I nearly got the shit kicked out of me. It was a bad film to say the least.

Natalie Portman as (the not Prostitute) Evey Hammond, she had the worst english accent ever. All she needed to say was "Cor blimey guv, Did you do tha'?" and the film would have been a comedy. Her acting was bad and she looked rough as and a bit strange in the pedo dress (when she sees the Bishop).
V was even worse. He never takes off the mask but thank fuck for that. I never knew you could act badly in a mask. They never show that he is faster in the comic or different from hormone testing at Larkhill. They also give him a weapon and a dry sence of wit not in the comic. He is not the same character as he is in the book and his veiw of vengance in the film is one of uncaring and neccisary. They have changed him too much to be recognisable from the comic book crazy terrorist wuth a dark edge.
The main bitch though is gonna be about the plot. Nothing like the comic. No mention of the facist govenment in full, instead a viral outbreak created to control the masses. Nothing to do with the plot of the original. I am disgusted with it soooooo much I cannot put it down in words. Even the murders were different. He blows up Big Ben at the beggining of the comic if I remeber rightly and Downing Street with his train. Not in this film its Big Ben as a Finaly. Ow and what a finally. Loads of poeple dressed in V masks protesting against the government. No one other than Evey gets a mask in the comic and she then becomes V not in this one she becomes a nobody with the cop by her side. The film has none of the dark grittyness of the comic and suffers because of the sensors fingers probing at the material contianed in it.

All in all a toned down film with no merits for acting or plot. A desicration to Alan Moore and if I was in his place I would take my name off the film credits too. A shite movie for comic readers and also for people who want to see a good yarn.

As you can tell I am seriously pissed off at the crapness of the film and it had soo much promise. If I ever find a Wachowski brother I will murder him in cold blood while wearing a V mask so he knows that he has done bad.
